Visionary Leaders Summit: Future Forward with English Proficiency – Solutions for Effective Implementation of TOEIC-Oriented Programs in Educational Institutions and Businesses

On September 8, the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and IIG Vietnam co-hosted the Visionary Leaders Summit: Future Forward with English Proficiency to discuss and share solutions for improving English proficiency and implementing effective TOEIC-oriented training programs to standardize the assessment of English proficiency in educational institutions and businesses according to international TOEIC standards.

The conference, held in Ho Chi Minh City, brought together representatives from international educational organizations, university leaders, and business executives from both domestic and international institutions.

The event featured six presentations from ETS, IIG Vietnam, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Vietjet Air Joint Stock Company, YBM (Korea), and an open discussion session. The conference focused on sharing insights and discussing solutions to improve English proficiency and implement TOEIC-oriented training programs to standardize foreign language assessment in educational institutions and businesses according to international TOEIC standards.

Notably, the implementation lessons, enriched by years of research and practice from both domestic and international universities and businesses, provided valuable practical experiences. These insights will help educational institutions and businesses effectively enhance students’ English proficiency in alignment with international TOEIC standards.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Rohit Sharma, Senior Vice President of Senior Vice President of Global Mobility Solutions at ETS, remarked: We highly value the continued cooperation of the Vietnamese government, the Ministry of Education and Training, and other government agencies who share our vision of raising educational standards. Together, we are building a future where the Vietnamese workforce is well-prepared to compete and succeed in the global market. Developed over four decades ago, TOEIC tests have been continuously enhanced by ETS to not only measure English proficiency but also serve as a tool for building a quality workforce capable of thriving in today’s rapidly evolving technological world.

During the presentation titled The popularity and use of TOEIC tests by mong working professionals and university graduates worldwide, and the value of the TOEIC test for businesses and universities, Mr. Ratnesh Kumar Jha, Institutional Products Global General Manager, emphasized that TOEIC has been trusted for many years by more than 18,000 organizations in over 160 countries worldwide. He highlighted that ETS’s goal is to provide solutions that meet the demands of the modern world, noting that this is a long-term journey, much like a marathon, not a sprint.  

As the country representative of ETS in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar, IIG Vietnam remains committed to its mission of enhancing the quality of education. IIG Vietnam strives to bring the most advanced educational standards and solutions to Vietnam, helping to improve the skills and qualifications of Vietnamese human resources to meet international standards and the rigorous demands of the labor market as Vietnam deeply integrates with the global economy.
