On 11 June 2011, the Awarding ceremony of the Microsoft Office World Champion 2011 was taken place in HCMC.
Present at the awarding ceremony, representing Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs: Mr.Nguyen Ngoc Phi – Vice Minister, Mr. Le Van Chuong – Director of Personnel Department, representing General Department of Vocationl Training, Ass.Pro.Dr. Duong Duc Lan – Vice Director, from Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) – Mr. Tran Huong – Deputy Director of MOET representative office in the south, Ms. Siripat Patrangul – Certiport General Director for Indochina, Thailand and Myanmar, Mr. Doan Hong Nam – President of IIG Vietnam – Head of Organization Board, sponsor representatives, Headmasters and leaders of universities, colleges… together with representatives from media and televisions.

It’s the 10th year of the world competition while Microsoft Office World Champion in Vietnam has just entered its 2 years old – 2 years old with new changes. With the enlarged scale of the competition to 5 categories including Microsoft Word 2007, Microsoft Excel 2007, Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, Microsoft Word 2010, Microsoft Excel 2010, the number of registered schools this year also increased up to 97, nearly tripled last year’s number (35 schools)

The national Microsoft Office World Champion 2011 organized by IIG Vietnam has successfully ended. The 2 round competition (National round and National Final round) is the good opportunity for Vietnamese students to “challenge” themselves. For this year, the number of candidates with the high and absolute score increased clearly. With 10 absolute-1000-points of all categories, Microsoft Office World Champion would promise a fierce competition of the years to come.

Playing a very important part of this year success, it’s the success of the vocational team. Accounting 20% of the total number of candidates for the national final, 3 out of 5 first prizes have gone to vocational students. With this impressive result, in recognition of vocational team’s achievement, certificate of merit from Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs have been awarded to those of 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes and from General Department of Vocational Training for those of the consolation prizes.

Microsoft Office World Champion 2011 enjoyed success with the major increase in terms of quantity of schools registering for the competition, the interest and attraction of millions of Vietnamese students nationwide and from the mass media that helps spread out the information. Just entering the 2nd year in Vietnam, the competition has confirmed itself a fruitful and fair playground, attractring quite a large number of students, thus contributing to the development of Vietnam education and vocational training system. In recognition of the contribution of Organization Board, a Certificate of Merit from Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has been awarded to IIG Vietnam. It’s the honour and also the pride for IIG Vietnam from a state level management agency.
The national round of the competition ended. With the candidates’ talent, we are now having the right to wait for “Vietnam” to be honor on this August 3rd in San Diego, California, USA.
