14th Feb, 2011, IIG Vietnam – the country representative of Certiport in Vietnam officially kick off the Microsoft Office World Champion 2011 with an aim to create a healthy and competitive playing field for students from universities, colleges, vocational schools, gifted and international high schools nationwide to demonstrate their skills at Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint and to be recognized for their talent by Microsoft, Certiport and other notable organizations.

In 2010, as the country representative of Certiport in Vietnam, IIG Vietnam successfully organized the “Microsoft Office World Champion 2010”.Despite its debut in Vietnam, the competition enjoyed considerable attention from students of 35 universities nationwide. Impressively, the two national champions Le Nguyen Anh Duong (Excel 2003) – HCM Baking Universityand Nguyen Tran Duy Phuong (Word 2003) of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology were ranked the world’s 4th and 6th on Excel 2003 and Word 2003, respectively. To make the Microsoft Office World Champion 2011 more accessible to all students nationwide, this year competition has made several changes: contestants are more diversified to not only team members from universities and colleges but also from gifted and international high schools, vocational colleges and particularly the freelance students can also enter themselves for the competititon with one of 5 test categories including Word 2007, Exel 2007, Powerpoint 2007, Word 2010, Excel 2010. The tests are delivered in English in 45 to50 minutes with score range of 1000 points. Candidates will be informed the test result immediately at the end of the test. Successful candidates will receive an internationally recognized certificate granted by Microsoft.

The competition is divided into 3 rounds: Round 1 – The National Round in Vietnam, Round 2 – The National Final Round in Vietnam, Round 3 – The World Final Round in San Diego, California, USA from 31st July to 3rd August. Participants who win each round will be awarded certificate and many valuable prizes. The 1st ranked candidate in the World Final Round will be granted a big prize with the value of up to 5,000 USD together with other valuable prizes.
