The Launching Ceremony of English Discoveries Online (EDO) on the online publications of Tuoi Tre Newspaper took place on June 10^th 2014, in Ho Chi Minh City. The new page, called Elearning and accessible at http://elearning.tuoitre.vn, was set up as an online publication of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, under an agreement it signed last year with IIG Vietnam, the officially authorized representative of the ETS.

Elearning will provide the latest interactive learning methods, with both blended-learning and distant-learning models of implementation, creating an ideal studying environment that saves time and at a low price. The website will also provide other useful English learning tools designed by the ETS to fit the users’ purposes, such as TOEIC OLPC and ESP (English For Specific Purposes). Readers can select the products on the site and pay online to receive a user account for these products (with many options for different courses). Furthermore, readers can access the rich sources on the website to find lessons, instructions, English learning tips, and especially the highly interactive Q&A corner where learners can have their questions answered and explained in detail. The whole website content is updated regularly by Tuoi Tre Newspaper’s editorial board and IIG Vietnam’s leading experts.

Researched and developed by ETS, EDO is useful software to English learner. EDO provides general English courses with the convenient dictionary system catered to the multifaceted needs of learners. In addition, the evaluation tests are scored automatically by ETS standards, and the results are mapped to ETS’ TOEIC and TOEFL scoring system as well as the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Moreover, the highly interactive learning programs assist learners in practicing listening and speaking skills with standard native accent. Learning English with EDO will help learners to reach the desired level, and fulfill their needs in studies and work.
