3. Content and Format of the TOEIC® Speaking and Writing Tests

The TOEIC Speaking and Writing tests assess English-language skills that are used in daily life and the workplace. The total test time is 80 minuties.

The TOEIC Speaking Test includes 11 questions that measure various aspects of your speaking ability in daily life and the workplace. The test takes about 20 minutes.

The TOEIC Writing Test includes 8 questions that measure various aspects of your writing ability in daily life and the workplace. The test takes about 60 minutes.

The TOEIC Speaking and Writing tests are scored based on separated assessment criteria. Each test-takers will receive a score certificate containing the score for each test and the total final score. Scores are divided into different levels called “proficiency levels” that allow for the strengths and weaknesses of each skill to be shown.

Duration Writing Section: 60 minutes
