1. Introduction
TOEFL Primary Challenge - Hanoi 2014 is a competition to assess primary school pupils’ English skills. This competition uses ETS’ TOEFL Primary and TOEFL Junior test to evaluate the contestants.
Designed specifically for primary school students, TOEFL Primary is an effective tool to assess primary school pupils’ English skills academically and socially. The Organizing Committee hopes that TOEFL Primary Challenge 2014 will become a useful playground, where pupils can meet and compete with others, while identifying their current skills comparing to international standards, as well as their cohorts from other primary schools in the nation. This should help them to be more prepared for their next academic levels. Especially, through the competition, parents and schools will have a chance to see the pupils’ abilities; therefore having appropriate adjustments in school curriculums and orientations for the pupils.
