1. SAT & its purposes
The SAT (formerly Scholastic Aptitude Test/ Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized test for college admission in the United States. The SAT is owned, published, and developed by the College Board, a non-profit organization in the United States, and was once developed, published, and scored by the Educational Testing Service (ETS)
Together with TOEFL and IELTS, students from outside USA have to prove their academic ability to study at USA University or College by applying SAT.
The SAT’s purpose is not measured English proficiency skills. It assesses how well the test takers analyze and solve problems—skills they learned in school that they will need in college throughout the Critical Reading, Mathematics and Writing tests.
The SAT is offered 7 times a
year in
US. The SAT test is divided into tests: SAT I (Reasoning Testing) và SAT II (SAT Subject Test). SAT I: is an compulsory condition if you want to enroll to a school at USA. SAT II: is not an compulsory condition likes SAT I however SAT II is used in case of applying for a scholarship or enrolling to a top Universities at USA, such as: Havard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Brown, Stanford,…
